continuation

this is nothing, of course, to what's happening in Nigeria at this time. Just one day after the attacks in Mumbai began (November 27) violence broke out in Jos, the capital of the Christian majority in Nigeria. Nigeria, like India, is comprised of two major religious groups - Muslims and Christians. Like India, the government split Nigeria into two according to where the majority of Muslims and Christians live (north and south, respectively). Following the last local election communal violence broke out and at least twice as many people as were killed in Mumbai have died.
We, in America, aren't hearing about these attacks in Jos, I strongly believe, because we aren't directly involved; Europeans, Westerners, foreigners aren't the ones being targeted there. So, the big news story between these two eerily similar events remains to be Mumbai.

I watched a special on the History Channel this morning on the KKK. Perhaps that's why i'm feeling totally down about my fellows. Today is just one big up-chuck of a day. If not even a double dose of Amy Poehler's swesomeness could cure this, nothing can.
